About
What is Dokha
It's all about the buzz
Dokha is a special kind of tobacco that’s been around in the Middle East, especially in the UAE and Oman. It’s different from regular pipe tobacco because it’s sun-dried instead of being cured over a fire. This way, it keeps its natural flavours and nicotine content better. Dokha is usually much stronger than regular tobacco, so it gives you a quick and intense nicotine rush. Dokha is ground up really fine and smoked using a small pipe called a medwakh. This way, you can take quick, strong puffs. Unlike regular pipe tobacco, which often has additives and flavourings, dokha is usually just pure tobacco, sometimes mixed with herbs or spices for a bit of extra flavour. Because it’s so strong, people usually prefer to use it in small amounts rather than the bigger amounts used in cigars or cigarettes.
Choosing the Right Dokha Blend
Selecting the perfect dokha blend depends on strength, heat level, and flavor profile. Strength ranges from mild to strong, delivering different levels of nicotine intensity. Heat level varies, with cold (smooth) blends offering a mild and easy experience, perfect for beginners. Warm (medium) blends provide a balanced intensity, while hot (strong) blends deliver intense heat and a powerful nicotine hit, preferred by experienced smokers. Flavor profiles range from earthy and woody to spicy or slightly sweet, depending on the curing process. Experimenting with different blends helps smokers find their ideal experience. Whether you're new to dokha or a seasoned smoker, there's a perfect blend for everyone!

how to dokha
How to Smoke Dokha Step-by-Step
First, prepare your medwakh by ensuring it is clean and free of residue for a smooth experience. Next, fill the bowl by gently dipping it into the dokha container and twisting slightly to pick up a small amount of tobacco. Avoid overpacking, as dokha is potent and burns quickly. Once the bowl is loaded, take a slow inhale while lighting the dokha with a lighter. Unlike traditional tobacco, dokha requires short, controlled puffs rather than deep drags. Hold the smoke in your lungs for a brief moment to absorb the nicotine, then exhale smoothly to enjoy the full-bodied flavor of the blend. Since dokha delivers a quick nicotine rush, beginners should start with one or two small puffs. If you feel lightheaded, take a break and sip water. After use, tap out any remaining ash and clean your medwakh with a pipe cleaner to remove buildup, ensuring a fresh experience for next time.
medwakh care
Keeping your medwakh clean is essential if you want to truly enjoy your dokha experience. All you need are pipe cleaners, a filter tip and a paper towel. Start by removing the old filter tip and use the paper towel to clean the mouth end. Insert the pipe cleaner through the mouth end to clear out chamber. Blow through the pipe to remove all dislodged buildup. Repeat this as often as necessary. Use another pipe cleaner to scrape the bowl clean and then swab the bowl to pick up any buildup. Finally, blow through the pipe and then insert the new filter.
